🌿 30 November 2025|A Morning of Light — Little Tailless Crocodile Children’s Picture Book Camp at Maha Karuna Vihara

30 November 2025 will be remembered as a gentle milestone — the day 55 children filled Maha Karuna Vihara with voices, footsteps, and pure innocence, marking our first Children Dhamma Picture Book Programme since the vihara was established.

The event was initiated and led by the Young Buddhist Association of Malaysia (YBAM), jointly organized by the YBAM Kuala Lumpur/Selangor State Liaison Committee, and hosted by Maha Karuna Buddhist Society. The programme revolved around the story “The Little Crocodile with No Tail” — simple in words, yet quietly profound, like Buddha’s teachings shared in gentle forms.

🌼 A Morning Alive With Joy

From as early as 7:30am, parents arrived hand-in-hand with children — sleepy faces slowly blooming into excitement.

Small hands holding breakfast, small eyes filled with wonder. Soon, the vihara — usually calm and still — was bright with laughter, games, singing, and friendships forming as naturally as morning light.

Through storytelling, group play, and guided activities, the children didn’t just hear values — they felt them.

In those moments, dhamma became something living.

Something warm.

Something that touched the heart.

🌱 A Seed Has Been Planted

This may be only one programme, yet it is a beginning.

If even one child walks away kinder, more patient, or more courageous — then a seed has sprouted.

Dhamma grows in this way:

not loud, not rushed, but gently —

in small hearts that are open and full of light.

Before we ended, many little hands gathered to plant Maha Karuna Vihara’s first tree —

a tree of gratitude, a prayer for the future,

a gift back to Mother Nature who gives us breath.

Under the guidance and blessing of Chief Reverend B. Sri Saranankara Maha Nayaka Thera, we returned thanks to the earth that holds us all. May this tree grow tall, as compassion grows quietly in every heart. 🌱💛

💛 With Gratitude

To every volunteer, parent, and supporter — thank you.

Your hands, time, and intention made this morning possible.

And to the 55 children — thank you for your laughter, your questions, your courage to learn.

You brought life to this vihara in the most beautiful way.

May they remind us why we teach, why we gather, and why compassion matters.
