On July 7, 2024, MKBS celebrated its 23rd Anniversary with an Appreciation Luncheon at the Pavilion Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The event was honored by the presence of members of the Maha Sangha and welcomed around 300 attendees.
Chief Reverend B. Sri Saranankara Nayaka Maha Thera, the Founder and Spiritual Advisor, shared how for 23 years, the society conducted its activities without a permanent building. Now, after over two years of construction, the new Maha Karuna Vihara temple is nearing completion, thanks to public support.
Funds raised from the auction held during the event will go towards completing the temple, which has been under construction since February 2022. The auction’s success was made possible by generous donors who contributed valuable art pieces.
The event was organized by Sister Yee Shin and her team, who worked hard to ensure its success, creating a warm and memorable experience for all attendees. President of MKBS, Brother Jacob Chan Teng Meng, thanked the public for their continuous support over the years.
