Today marked the first day of our Pilgrimage and Charity Event in Sri Lanka. Upon our arrival on February 24th, we journeyed to the ancient city of Anuradhapura. Here, at the SSP office at Anuradhapura, we conducted a meaningful Cow Liberation Ceremony. With reverence and compassion, we set free 18 cows, guided by the principles of Chief Reverend Bootawatte Sri Saranankara Maha Thera and the Maha Karuna Buddhist Society Malaysia.
Together, we extend blessings for the happiness and well-being of all sentient beings, well wishers, devotees and animals.
We are grateful to the support of Viharasthaโs Devotee Committee Palugaswewa under the leadership of Venerable Palitha Thero for their kind effort in coordinating and make this cow liberation program at Anuradhapura a blissful one.
We will continue this noble journey, with the liberation of 72 more cows scheduled for February 27, 2024.
