Since 2021, the Maha Karuna Buddhist Society Malaysia has been leading the Ten Thousand Maha Sanghika Dana Programme, the first of its kind in Malaysia. We join hands with Buddhist Devotees from all walks of life to offer dana to remote monasteries, offering meals and dry food supplies ranging from one day to one month. Our efforts extend to 8 to 12 countries each time, fostering the support across borders.
The Ten Thousand Maha Sanghika Dana Programme led by the Maha Karuna Buddhist Society Malaysia aims to offer meals and dry food supplies to remote monasteries across 8 to 12 countries.
Sangha, in Pali literature, refers to the community of Bhikkhus who have renounced everything to fully dedicate themselves to studying and practicing the Buddha Dhamma. Lay householders support the Sangha community by offering material needs, and in return, the Sangha community support the lay people by preaching Dhamma and meditation. This reciprocal relationship fosters harmony and progress for both parties, bringing immense merits and purifying the mind.
