俯念佛陀恩、精進证菩提

卫塞节 Vesak 2023
是纪念佛陀一生中的三件大事——诞生、悟道、涅槃的日子
据南传佛教典籍记载，佛陀出生于两千多年前5月的一个月圆之日；35年后又在5月的某个月圆之日于菩提树下悟道；他涅槃那天，正巧也是5月的月圆之日。三者虽非同一天，却全都是在5月，且有“月圆”这个最大共同特点。于是，后世的佛教徒确定在每年5月的第一个月圆日庆祝卫塞节。
Vesak Day is a day that commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and passing away (Parinibbāna) of Gautama Buddha.
According to the Buddhist records, the Buddha was born on a full moon day in May, two thousand years ago; 35 years later, He enlightened under the Bodhi tree on a full moon day in May and attained Parinibbana on full moon day in May as well. Although the three are not on the same day, they are all in May, and they have the commonality of “full moon”. Therefore, Buddhists of later generations decided to celebrate Vesak Day on the first full moon day of May every year.
