Yayasan Maha Karuna & Maha Karuna Buddhist Society brought along food supplies for the University Malaya students who live in the campus this morning. Several localities in Kuala Lumpur have been put under stricter lockdown since June, in an effort to curb the growing Covid-19 outbreak more effectively. For the safety of the live in students, students are not allowed to leave the Campus without the University Vice Chancellorโs permission.
A total of 1300 students under B40 Category will be benefited from these food supplies. Each of them will be getting instant cup noodles, assorted OATS biscuits, cream crackers, Milk Tea, Cadbury chocolates .
Besides that, Mr & Mrs Lau SL had contributed 900 pieces of vegetarian bun today for 449 non-muslim students and the bun had been distributed to each of the students at different residential colleges.
Yayasan Maha Karuna understands that the epidemic not only affect students academically, but also they might face psychological pressure. For an uncertain future, students may feel insecure. โWe wish the students to know that society we care about them and they are not alone even they are away from home.โ
โWe learnt that it is now examination season in the Campus and we are happy that these snacks will be good companion for the fellow students during the study weeks specially they require more energy while doing revision.โ Students live in the Campus are provided with three meals a day, while these food provision supplied today will be additional energy supply for the students during their study.
