The High Commission of India, Kuala Lumpur, in collaboration with the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Indian Cultural Centre, Kuala Lumpur, proudly organized the Ashadha Purnima celebration on 10th August 2014. The event took place at the prestigious Shantanand Auditorium, located within the Temple of Fine Arts, Kuala Lumpur. This auspicious occasion was held in partnership with the Vajrayana Buddhist Council of Malaysia (VBCM), Itipiso Bhagava Club (IBC Malaysia) , and Maha Karuna Buddhist Society \u9a6c\u6765\u897f\u4e9a\u5b8f\u6148\u4f5b\u6559\u4f1a, bringing together a diverse community to honor a day of profound historical and spiritual significance.<\/div>\n

Ashadha Purnima, also known as \ud835\udc03\ud835\udc21\ud835\udc1a\ud835\udc26\ud835\udc26\ud835\udc1a \ud835\udc02\ud835\udc21\ud835\udc1a\ud835\udc24\ud835\udc2b\ud835\udc1a \ud835\udc0f\ud835\udc2b\ud835\udc1a\ud835\udc2f\ud835\udc1a\ud835\udc2b\ud835\udc2d\ud835\udc1a\ud835\udc27\ud835\udc1a, marks one of the most important events in the Buddhist calendar. It commemorates the day when Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon, known as the “Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta” or “Turning of the Wheel of Dhamma,” to his five ascetic disciples in Sarnath, India. This day is considered the beginning of the Buddha’s teaching mission and the establishment of the Sangha, the monastic community.<\/div>\n

This first sermon laid the foundation for the spread of Buddhism, emphasizing the Four Noble Truths and the Noble Eightfold Path, which form the core of Buddhist philosophy and practice.
