On December 12, the 8th South China Sea Buddhist Roundtable took place in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka. More than 400 eminent monks, government officials, experts and scholars from 25 countries and regions including China, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Thailand, India, Nepal, Vietnam, Japan, the United States, and France attended the main forum event that day. This is also the first time that the roundtable has been held entirely in an overseas country. The number of participating countries and regions and the number of participants have reached a record high.<\/div>\n

Master Yinshun, founder and general convener of the Nanhai Buddhist Roundtable, vice president of the Buddhist Association of China, and abbot of Shenzhen Hongfa Temple, said in his keynote speech that the purpose of this roundtable was to build a platform for Buddhist exchanges and cooperation and to unite efforts. Respond to the \u201cBelt and Road\u201d initiative and contribute wisdom and strength to the peaceful development of the South China Sea region.<\/div>\n

The theme of this year\u2019s roundtable is \u201cTogether with the Way of Harmony and Gather the Wisdom of the Silk Road\u201d. Representatives of the participating countries and regions closely followed the theme, conducted in-depth exchanges and dialogues, and jointly signed the initiative for this roundtable meeting, expressing their willingness to work together to promote exchanges and mutual learning, promote people-to-people connectivity, and maintain peace in the South China Sea.<\/div>\n

This roundtable lasted for three days. Representatives from all walks of life from different countries and regions also attended the education sub-forum and the youth sub-forum. They were invited to visit the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, Gangalama Temple, Kelaniya University, etc. in Colombo, and participated in World Peace Prayer Assembly.<\/div>\n

\u5357\u6d77\u4f5b\u6559\u5706\u684c\u4f1a\u53d1\u8d77\u4eba\u548c\u603b\u53ec\u96c6\u4eba\u3001\u4e2d\u56fd\u4f5b\u6559\u534f\u4f1a\u526f\u4f1a\u957f\u3001\u6df1\u5733\u5f18\u6cd5\u5bfa\u65b9\u4e08\u5370\u987a\u6cd5\u5e08\u5728\u4e3b\u65e8\u53d1\u8a00\u4e2d\u8868\u793a\uff0c\u672c\u5c4a\u5706\u684c\u4f1a\u7684\u53ec\u5f00\uff0c\u65e8\u5728\u6784\u7b51\u4f5b\u6559\u4ea4\u6d41\u5408\u4f5c\u5e73\u53f0\uff0c\u51dd\u5fc3\u805a\u529b\u54cd\u5e94\u201c\u4e00\u5e26\u4e00\u8def\u201d\u5021\u8bae\uff0c\u4e3a\u5357\u6d77\u5730\u533a\u548c\u5e73\u53d1\u5c55\u8d21\u732e\u667a\u6167\u548c\u529b\u91cf\u3002<\/div>\n
