This wonderful event, hosted by Department of Islamic Religion Federal Territory at the Federal Mosque of Kuala Lumpur, was graced by the presence of Datuk Mohd Ajib Ismail, the Director of JAWI (Department of Islamic Religion Federal Territory).<\/p>\n<p>The Founder and Spiritual Advisor of MKBS, Chief Reverend B. Sri Saranankara Maha Thera attended the assembly at the Federal Mosque of Kuala Lumpur on 4th November 2023, alongside leaders from various faiths, to witness the officiate ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Reverend B. Sri Saranankara Maha Thera who is also the Chief High Priest (Judiciary) of Malaysia, Chief Abbot of Sri Lanka Buddhist Temple, Religious Patron of Theravada Buddhist Council of Malaysia and Religious Advisor to Young Buddhist Association Malaysia commends the organisers for their dedication in hosting such events, applying sports to encourage cross-religious unity and promote social harmony. &#8220;The dedicated coordination of the organisers, Respected Ustaz Tn Haji Rozimi bin Zamri, the grand Imam of Federal Mosque of Kuala Lumpur, Mr Jamal and Mohd Fairuz bin Mohammad, the Facilitators of Mini Carnival and the organising team in successfully organised this beneficial event for both the body and mind for the community is commendable.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>MKBS Secretary Natasya Tan spoke, &#8220;The official preparation time for this event began approximately a month ago. Although the Buddhist Society has many established in-house projects, it&#8217;s heartening to see the elderly, our Spiritual Advisor Venerable B. Sri Saranankara, despite his busy daily lives, actively reaching out to representatives of different religious leaders, such as Mr. Tan Hoe Chieow representing Taoism (FTAM) and leaders from the Hindu organisation, to gather everyone for meetings at the Federal Mosque in Kuala Lumpur for a successful carnival event. We then started actively seeking out Buddhist representatives to participate in this Sport Carnival. However, towards the end of the year, many students are either busy with exams, or have already gone on vacation, making it challenging to send more athletes. On the day of the opening ceremony at the mosque, the attendees, especially those who are already stepped into working life felt like they had returned to the warmth and relaxed atmosphere of their school or university days, doing sport and interacting freely. Everyone hopes that if similar opportunities arise in the future, they will enthusiastically participate and bring more friends along.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re thrilled to share that Maha Karuna Buddhist Society achieved a remarkable 3rd place in Street Soccer and an admirable 4th place in Female Double Ping Pong led by the dedicated Sister Kar Ying.<\/p>\n<p>This interfaith event was a shining example of understanding, unity and goodwill, bringing diverse communities together through the power of sports. Notably, Young Buddhist Association Malaysia also represented the Buddhist Community in this event, alongside Maha Karuna Buddhist Society KL
