On 27 June 2023, under the leadership of Most Venerable Bootawatte Sri Saranankara Maha Thera, Malaysia delegates given the opportunity to offer dana to 50 Sangha Members from 7 temples and offered dry food provision to 100 families of the area. The dry food provision is sponsored by Mr & Mrs Lim Cheng Ean and friends.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Maha Karuna Buddhist Society offered medicine, supplementary vitamins to the Sangha community and villagers. While, Venerable Shi Yin Liang had offered 70 bags to the Sangha Community. Sister Selina and Brother Donny had brought along table lamps and offer to the Sangha community. Ms Vivian Lim and well-wishers had offered dana to Sangha members and medicine fund for Sagama clinic.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Dana is the first of the ten perfections of an arahant on the path to nibbana. When the Buddha teaches, he begins his sermon with the virtues of giving (danakatha). (Vin.i,15,18) Of the three wholesome bases for the performance of meritorious deeds (punnakiriyavatthu), giving is the first, the other two being virtue and mental cultivation. (A.iv,241)<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Giving is of prime importance in the Buddhist scheme of mental purification because it is the antidote to greed (lobha), which is the first of the three unwholesome motivational roots (akusalamula).<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

It is not only miserliness which prevents giving. Heedlessness and ignorance of the causes of kamma and survival after death can likewise be determining factors (macchera ca pamada ca evam danam na diyati, S.i,18). One who understands the moral advantages of giving will be vigilant in seizing opportunities to practice virtuous actions.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Buddha once said that if people knew the value of giving the way he did, they would not eat a single meal without sharing it with others. (It.p,18).<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u5b8f\u6148\u4f5b\u6559\u4f1a\u4e3a\u50e7\u56e2\u548c\u6751\u6c11\u63d0\u4f9b\u836f\u54c1\u3001\u8865\u5145\u7ef4\u751f\u7d20\u3002\u4e0e\u6b64\u540c\u65f6\uff0c\u91ca\u5370\u4eae\u6cd5\u5e08\u4e5f\u4f9b\u517b\u4e86\u50e7\u56e270\u4e2a\u4e66\u5305\u3002Sis Selina\u5e26\u6765\u4e86\u53f0\u706f\u4f9b\u517b\u50e7\u56e2\u3002 Ms Vivian Lim\u548c\u4eb2\u53cb\u5411\u50e7\u4f3d\u6210\u5458\u4f9b\u517b\u9053\u7cae\uff0c\u5e76\u4e3a\u8428\u8fe6\u739b\u8bca\u6240\u63d0\u4f9b\u533b\u836f\u57fa\u91d1\u3002<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
