In English, Vassa is often glossed as Rains Retreat, the three-month rainy season retreat for the Buddhist.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Vassa\u662f\u5df4\u5229\u8bed\uff0c\u82f1\u8bed\u79f0\u4e3a\u96e8\u5b63\u7684\u64a4\u9000\uff0c\u6c49\u8bed\u79f0\u4e3a\u201c\u96e8\u5b89\u5c45\u201d\uff0c\u5373\u662f\u4e3a\u671f\u4e09\u4e2a\u6708\u7684\u201c\u7ed3\u590f\u5b89\u5c45\u201d\u3002<\/p>\n According to the TheraV\u0101da tradition, the Vassa originated with the Buddha himself. Gautama Buddha ordered his disciples to stop travel for a three months period during the rainy season, in order to avoid damage to plants and insects growing in the rainy season.<\/p>\n \u4f9d\u636e\u4e0a\u5ea7\u90e8\u4f5b\u6559\u4f20\u7edf\uff0c\u96e8\u5b89\u5c45\u8d77\u6e90\u4e8e\u4f5b\u9640\u65f6\u4ee3\u3002\u4f5b\u9640\u5efa\u8bae\u4ed6\u7684\u5f1f\u5b50\u4eec\u5728\u96e8\u5b63\u7684\u4e09\u4e2a\u6708\u5f53\u4e2d\uff0c\u505c\u6b62\u5916\u51fa\u884c\u811a\u4e91\u6e38\uff0c\u4ee5\u907f\u514d\u4f24\u5bb3\u96e8\u5b63\u4e2d\u751f\u957f\u7684\u690d\u7269\u4e0e\u6606\u866b\u3002<\/p>\n Vassa begins on the full moon of the seventh month, it ends on the full moon of the tenth month. For the duration of Vassa, Sangha Members remain inside monasteries and temple grounds. The monks dedicate the Vassa to intensive meditation. Some Buddhist lay people choose to observe Vassa by adopting more ascetic practices, such as abstain from taking food after the noon, alcohol, or smoking.<\/p>\n \u96e8\u5b89\u5c45\u5f00\u59cb\u4e8e\u4e03\u6708\u7684\u6708\u5706\u65e5\uff0c\u7ed3\u675f\u4e8e\u5341\u6708\u7684\u6708\u5706\u65e5\u3002\u5728\u96e8\u5b89\u5c45\u671f\u95f4\uff0c\u50e7\u56e2\u505c\u7559\u5728\u5bfa\u9662\u9759\u4fee\uff0c\u6216\u94bb\u7814\u4e09\u85cf\u6216\u7985\u4fee\u6c42\u8bc1\u3002\u5728\u96e8\u5b89\u5c45\u671f\u95f4\uff0c\u4e00\u4e9b\u5728\u5bb6\u4fe1\u4f17\u540c\u6837\u4e5f\u9009\u62e9\u5230\u5bfa\u9662\u53d7\u6301\u5e03\u84288\u6212\uff0c\u8fc7\u5348\u4e0d\u98df\u3001\u4e0d\u996e\u9152\u548c\u5438\u70df\u4ee5\u53ca\u5bc6\u96c6\u7985\u4fee\u95fb\u6cd5\u3002<\/p>\n This year, Maha Karuna Buddhist Society is blessed to invite 3 Sangha Members, Venerable B.
