Following a hike in Covid-19 cases in Malaysia recently, ICUs in designated hospitals nationwide are operating at near capacity and to help cope with this surge, Maha Karuna Buddhist Society works together with Yayasan Maha Karuna donated medical equipment and appreciation token to the frontline personnel with total cost Ringgit Malaysia Three Hundred Forty-Three Thousand and Eighty.<\/div>\n

Today, 1 unit of Verbana Balance Ultrasound System, 14 unit of Patient Transfer, 300 Disposable Urinary Pack were handover at Hospital Sungai Buloh. While 8 unit of Professional Mobility & Dual Power Suction unit and 3500 unit of stainless-steel vacuum insulated flask and beverage sport bottles will be handover to the hospital within next two days.<\/div>\n

Handover Ceremony was presented by Dr. Kuldip, Director of Hospital Sungai Buloh, Rev B. Sri Saranankara, Director of Yayasan Maha Karuna, Mr Tan Kim Ming, Director of the Foundation, Dr Tan RZ from Forensic Department Hospital Sg Buloh and Ms Natasya Tan, Project Manager of the Foundation.<\/div>\n

Dr. Kuldip Kaur, Director of Sungai Buloh Hospital, said that the hospital is indeed facing certain challenges in terms of manpower and medical resources as the pandemic worsens. Nonetheless, she is thankful for the assistance from non-governmental organizations at this trying time. She expressed thanks to Yayasan Maha Karuna for their rapid response in delivering, the necessary supplies to the hospital within a week.<\/div>\n

He said that the hospital has already planned to expand ward to deal with the coronavirus pandemic. In addition to the beds built in the open area, even the rooms that are usually used to dispose of medical waste will also be requisitioned and converted into temporary wards.<\/div>\n

With the Ultrasound System, a minimally invasive autopsy on Covid19 on the brought in dead bodies can be performed in forensic department. It will be used to locate the targeted organs and just take biopsy. The biospy tissue will be then examined to look for covid19 pathological changes. With this, without full autopsy to be performed which can cause the spreading of the virus that can put medical front line on risk. Autopsy performed in a a faster way, it too further protect the family members of the deceased and the community and prevent further spread of the virus among the community.<\/div>\n
