In light of the growing concerns around COVID-19 and the implementation of RMCO in Malaysia, we have made the difficult decision to NOT organize the aforementioned event at Bodhi Dharma Vihara, Cheras (which was initially planned to be held on 29 March 2020) or any large scale distribution events.
However, we would still distribute the collected items to various organizations, groups and underprivileged family, that need and had requested such assistance from us.
We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences caused and our profound gratitude to all parties that have provided endless contribution and support towards our event.
We will be looking forward to your participation again for next year’s 2021 Senior Citizens Appreciation Event.
In line with our objective to serve the needy in Malaysia irrespective of race and religion, we are organizing the annual Senior Citizens Appreciation Day to assist around 2000 senior citizens and people with disabilities in year 2019. This marks the 14th year that we are coordinating this charitable event. The recipients will be receiving monetary provision and two bags of essential household items.
In their senior years, many people feel that they are being neglected and underappreciated by the society; hence, this Senior Citizens Appreciation Program is held to show gratitude and appreciation to the senior citizens who have sacrificed and worked hard to serve this blessed country of ours. In our race to develop materially, we often forget to make the senior members of our society to feel needed and respected. An event like this will educate and remind the younger generation on the selfless contribution and services of the previous generation.
We hope our kind gesture will alleviate the financial burdens of the recipients and highlight the need and responsibility for us to care for the senior citizens in our community.
