衛塞節是纪念佛陀一生中的三件大事——诞生、悟道、涅槃的日子
据南传佛教典籍记载，佛陀出生于两千多年前5月的一个月圆之日；35年后又在5月的某个月圆之日于菩提树下悟道；尊者涅槃那天，正巧也是5月的月圆之日。三者虽非同一天，却全都是在5月，且有“月圆”这个最大共同特点。于是，后世的佛教徒确定在每年5月的第一个月圆日庆祝卫塞节。
Wesak Day is a day that commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and passing away (Parinibbāna) of Gautama Buddha.
According to the Buddhist records, the Buddha was born on a full moon day in May, two thousand years ago; 35 years later, He enlightened under the Bodhi tree on a full moon day in May and attained Parinibbana on full moon day in May as well. Although the three are not on the same day, they are all in May, and they have the commonality of “full moon”. Therefore, Buddhists of later generations decided to celebrate Vesak Day on the first full moon day of May every year.

MAHA KARUNA BUDDHIST SOCIETY KL & SEL (MALAYSIA) initiated the Wesak Celebration with option to perform merit accumulation by offering lamps, sangha dana, flowers and food sharing with public. There will also be Thousand Lights Offering made on 31-05-2026 at Mahabodhi Temple, Bodhgaya, India, the place where the Buddha attained enlightenment.

宏慈佛教會（马来西亚雪隆區）啟建𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔年衛塞節慶典及以供燈獻花供僧素食結緣廣結善緣的方式行善造福田。此外，佛教會也將在2026 年 5月 31日衛塞節當天供千燈予印度菩提伽耶正覺塔,也就是佛陀成佛悟道之地。
